MIAMI, FL- March 18 through 20, SERAPHIC FIRE AND THE FIREBIRD CHAMBER ORCHESTRA present Johann Sebastian Bach’s monumental oratorio ST. JOHN PASSION. Widely considered to be one of Bach’s most dramatic compositions, ST. JOHN PASSION describes the final hours of Christ’s life in vivid musical detail. Already proving to be one of the most talked-about performances this season; Seraphic Fire has kept pace with popular demand by adding an additional show in Ft. Lauderdale.
ST. JOHN PASSION will open on Friday, March 18, at All Saints Episcopal Church at 7:30 pm. The program will be delivered again on Saturday, March 19, at Trinity Cathedral at 8:00 pm and conclude with the added performance on Sunday, March 20, at All Saints Episcopal Church at 4:00 pm. Tickets start at $50 and are available at www.SeraphicFire.org or by phone at 888-544-FIRE. Continuing its mission to reach younger audiences, a limited amount of tickets will be FREE for those thirty and under.
Created in 2007, THE FIREBIRD CHAMBER ORCHESTRA is “…clearly full of first-rate musicians…” according to David Fleshler of the Miami Herald. The Sun Sentinel describes SERAPHIC FIRE as “the smartest, most creative, consistently excellent classical music ticket in South Florida.” Together under the direction of Artistic Director, Patrick Dupré Quigley, these two ensembles produce performances that have been called “… brilliantly successful,” by Alan Becker of the South Florida Classical Review. This performance will prove to be no different!
Johann Sebastian Bach’s ST. JOHN PASSION delivers a dramatic and meditative recollection of Christ’s finals hours. This fervent account is based on the emotionally charged scripture of John. Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach for the Good Friday Vespers service of 1724, this reflective piece is performed annually in the great European capitals.

Seraphic Fire will once again make FREE tickets available to those who are 30 or under (but over 8, please) before each performance as long as tickets remain. A limited number of under 30 tickets are available in advance online at www.SeraphicFire.org and using code U30 (ID will need to be presented to pick up tickets on concert day).
