SERAPHIC FIRE’S CHRISTMAS CONCERTS, A MIAMI HOLIDAY TRADITION, RETURN THIS DECEMBER
MIAMI, FL – Seraphic Fire, South Florida’s critically-lauded professional chamber choir, presents its annual candlelight holiday concerts, O Holy Night: Christmas with Seraphic Fire, from December 7th through the 20th, 2011 in Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and Monroe Counties. Venues, dates and times are listed below. Timeless carols and beautiful Gregorian chant combine into a concert experience the Miami Herald calls “gorgeous and evocative.” Tickets and information can be found at SeraphicFire.org or by phone at 888-544-FIRE. Two venues are already sold out.
The most popular program of Seraphic Fire’s season, the ensemble’s candlelight Christmas concerts have delighted thousands of South Florida concert-goers over the years. Seraphic Fire’s artistic director Patrick Dupré Quigley yearly creates an aural collage which celebrates various Christmas traditions from around the world. This year, the program centers around the carol O Holy Night. With music that speaks of angels, shepherds, three kings and the holy family on the first Christmas, O Holy Night: A Seraphic Fire Christmas conjures up ancient images and feelings of holiday comfort.
With the entire family in mind, Quigley has included a combination of familiar carols and glorious new works which will make for future favorites. “It really isn’t the Christmas season until you hear a choir sing O Come, All Ye Faithful, Silent Night and The First Noel,” says Quigley. “This year’s program is a sung Christmas card – images and messages that last with the listener throughout the season.”
In addition to Seraphic Fire’s regular Brickell, Coral Gables, Boca Raton, Miami Beach and Ft. Lauderdale venues, the ensemble will travel to Palm Beach, Bal Harbour, Marathon Key, the South Dade Cultural Center and Ft. Lauderdale’s Sunshine Cathedral for an additional five performances. Dates and times are listed below.
