A Seraphic Fire Christmas:Home for the Holidays

December 20, 2020 @ 4:00pm EST

Live Pre-Concert Conversation begins @ 3:30pm EST

This year’s Christmas performance theme – Home for the Holidays – is apropos for the current environment, but also serves as a reminder of the warmth, love, and comfort of the place we call home. Patrons will recognize familiar Seraphic Fire faces in a Christmas program that emanates all of the feelings that make the holidays a special time of year. The program will include a Seraphic Fire premiere of What Child is This? and long-time favorites such as Silent Night, Jesus Christ the Apple Tree, and O Little Town of Bethlehem.

“Seraphic Fire’s Christmas concerts have become a treasured tradition for many of our patrons,” said James K. Bass. “It is my hope that you will be pleased to hear some of the all-time favorites from our traditional concerts with a few new ‘firsts’ for Seraphic Fire mixed in! The essence and nostalgia of A Seraphic Fire Christmas awaits when you watch our broadcast.”

Associate Conductor James K. Bass excels at bringing lyrics to life and exploring the musical nuances that are unique to Seraphic Fire. Viewers can look forward to Bass’s introductions of each musical selection and ensemble singers sharing some of their favorite Christmas memories throughout the program. And keep your eyes out for a surprise artist who will add a bit of fun to this afternoon performance of Christmas carols.

“Although many of our most special traditions and rituals have been disrupted this year, it is our pleasure to be able to bring A Seraphic Fire Christmas into your home!” Bass continued. “As we have sought out new opportunities for meaningful connections with our listeners, our Christmas concert was at the forefront of our efforts. You will experience all the beautiful sounds and sensations in the comfort and safety of your home…. and we will be right there with you!”
