Position Summary

Seraphic Fire, South Florida’s twice GRAMMY®-nominated professional vocal ensemble, is seeking a passionate and sophisticated individual interested in fundraising and relationship building for one of Miami’s top performing arts institutions. This position will identify, engage, cultivate, solicit, and steward current and prospective major donors and corporate sponsors in expanding their financial support of Seraphic Fire. This includes building relationships with individual donors to identify their interests in supporting institutional goals. The individual also will implement the annual donor development process and play a critical role in seeing an endowment and capital campaign through to completion. The organization is looking for a thorough, refined, and meticulous individual to build and strengthen relationships with all funding-related constituents. This is a professional level position, with growth opportunity, suited to someone with 2-5 years of development-related experience in nonprofit arts administration.


  • Manage a portfolio of 50-75 major gift individuals ($1k+) and corporate prospects.
  • Create and implement Board-approved fundraising strategies including:
    • Develop a strategy for new prospects at both the local and national level
    • Cultivate and solicit donors for funding opportunities including concert sponsorships, education programs, special events, and tours
    • Manage relationships with existing donors and strategic encouragement of increased participation
  • Prepare funding proposals that outline funding opportunities, overall vision, and benefits of a relationship with Seraphic Fire
  • Develop and implement prospect-specific cultivation, briefing, and solicitation strategies
  • Lead and support solicitations through the development of prospect-specific proposals and talking points for organizational and volunteer leadership
  • Alongside organizational and volunteer leadership, advance key organizational initiatives including fundraising and capital campaigns
  • Interact with Board members and other interested parties to identify, cultivate, and solicit prospective major donors
  • Steward major donors and corporate sponsors through thank you notes, in-person visits, and impact reports serving as their primary contact
  • Maintain and update donor information in Seraphic Fire’s database, ensuring that all contact and activity is documented
  • Attend performances, donor cultivation meals and events, and related community activities, serving as a representative of Seraphic Fire
  • Produce development-related reports as requested by the Executive Director
  • Other projects as assigned

Concert Duty

  • Greet and interact with donors
  • Serve as on-site point of contact for Board members and make introductions

This position has a varied schedule with evening and weekend hours.


The ideal applicant will present as polished and sophisticated, possess persuasive writing and verbal communication skills, be systems-oriented, have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, derive enjoyment from conversing and interacting with donors, and be motivated to move the organization forward through increased funding. The capacity to develop and maintain positive and productive relationships with high level donors, volunteers, Board members, and staff is integral to this role. Facility with standard computer software (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel) is a must. Applicants must be able to work calmly under pressure, drive to locations throughout South Florida, and travel nationally 3-4 times per year. Knowledge of and appreciation for the choral art form and classical music will be seen as an asset.
