MIAMI, FL – Seraphic Fire, Miami’s twice Grammy nominated professional chamber choir, presents The Tudors: A Musical Tapestry on March 14 – 18, 2012 at venues in Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties. This fascinating program traces the musical timeline of the infamous Tudor dynasty with stunning works by Byrd, Tallis and their contemporaries. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased at or by phone at 888-544-FIRE. Continuing its mission to reach younger audiences, a limited amount of tickets will be FREE for those thirty and under.

For more than a century, the Kingdoms of England and Ireland were united under the rule of the Tudor dynasty. Beginning with Henry VII’s ascent to the throne after the War of the Roses, and ending with the death of Gloriana (the Virgin Queen, Elizabeth I), the House of Tudor saw both tumult and glory. Henry VIII’s break with the Catholic Church, “Bloody” Queen Mary’s return to the Roman faith of her mother, and Elizabeth’s union of England under the Anglican church were the backdrop for what may be England’s golden age of musical composition. Seraphic Fire’s lauded singers will deliver performances of the highest order in this concert series of some of the most glorious music England has ever known.

Nominated for two 2012 GRAMMY awards (Best Small Ensemble and Best Choral Performance) Seraphic Fire has garnered international acclaim since its inception ten years ago. The London-based classical music magazine, Gramophone, has declared that Seraphic Fire “has quickly become one of the top attractions in the [South Florida] region” and the Chicago Classical Review states that Seraphic Fire is “stunning to behold.” The ensemble has also been proclaimed “a must-have ticket for devotees of classical music in South Florida,” by the Palm Beach Arts Paper and “one of the best choirs anywhere” by the Miami Herald.
