MIAMI, FL – Celebrating the orchestral prowess of American composers, Seraphic Fire presents the Firebird Chamber Orchestra in Dances of the Americas: The Pulse of a New World on April 18 – 22, 2012 at venues in Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased at SeraphicFire.org or by phone at 888-544-FIRE.Continuing its mission to reach younger audiences, a limited amount of tickets will be FREE for patrons thirty and under.
This high-energy performance of gripping American works includes Aaron Copland’s beloved and spirited composition, Hoe-Down from his most popular score Rodeo. Also on the program will John Adams’ Shaker Loops. One of America’s most lauded living composers, The New Yorker has declared that Adams “may be the most vital and eloquent composer in America.”The virtuosic Firebird Chamber Orchestra conclude their season in this thrilling finale.
Over four seasons, the Firebird Chamber Orchestra has established itself as a musical force in South Florida. David Fleshler of the Sun Sentinel declares that Firebird is “…clearly full of first-rate musicians.” Laurence Budmen of the South Florida Classical Reviewdescribes the ensemble as “moving and unforgettable.” “Excellent” says Gregory Stepanich of the Palm Beach Arts Paper. Performances by the Firebird Chamber Orchestra and its sister ensemble, Seraphic Fire, have been called “… brilliantly successful” by Alan Becker of the South Florida Classical Review.
