What to Expect Fall 2021

Updated: Wednesday, September 15, 2021
(policies updated weekly)

As we enter our 2021-22 Season, our paramount concern is for the safety and comfort of our guests, artists, staff, and volunteers. We expect that in-person concerts will have modifications to ensure a healthy environment until the CDC and government health departments indicate it is safe to loosen these restrictions and begin returning to normal operations.

Seraphic Fire will follow the policies recommended and imposed by local jurisdictions and our venues at the time of each concert. Additionally, Seraphic Fire will require all concert attendees to provide proof of vaccination and be masked at all times while inside the concert venue. Children under 12, and individuals with a medical condition or closely held religious belief preventing vaccination, can instead provide proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR diagnostic test taken within 72 hours or a negative COVID-19 antigen test taken within 24 hours of the performance start time. Self-reported negative test results that are not from a test provider, laboratory, or health care provider will not be accepted. Additionally, masks must be worn by everyone entering the venue.

We are taking these precautions for the comfort and safety of our patrons, but also for our artists whose livelihoods depend on maintaining good health as they work and travel around the country. Our vocal artists are especially at risk of having their careers impacted by an illness that can cripple their valuable instrument.

In addition to the finest choral music performances in South Florida, here are a few things to expect when attending our concerts this season:

For our audience members and volunteers:

  • Proof of vaccination required. This should be presented for all members of your party at the ticket scanning station.
  • Children under 12, and individuals with a medical condition or closely held religious belief preventing vaccination, can instead provide proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR diagnostic test taken within 72 hours or a negative COVID-19 antigen test taken within 24 hours of the performance start time. Tests must be from a test provider, laboratory, or health care provider This should be presented at the ticket scanning station.
  • Box Office and Will Call stations will be set up outdoors.
  • Contactless check-in.
  • Digital versions of the magazine and program book available via scan.
  • Hand sanitizer stations readily available.
  • Masks will be required indoors. We will have extras on hand in case you arrive without one.
  • At least 2 rows of separation between the stage and the first row of audience seating for social distancing.
  • Reduced capacity and staggered seating to allow for space between each party in attendance.
  • Multiple points of entry to and exit from the venue.
  • Flexible ticket policies – We want everyone to enjoy the Seraphic Fire concert experience to their fullest. If you feel you won’t be able to enjoy a performance due to health concerns, we will be happy to exchange your tickets for a performance later in the season. If you decide you are unable or uncomfortable attending our concerts this season for any reason, we will work with you to find a solution that best suits your needs, including:
    1. Transferring tickets or subscriptions to the following season
    2. Changing your purchase into a tax-deductible donation
    3. Granting full refunds (note: refunds must be requested prior to the concert date)
  • Digital concert option – Can’t make the concert for health-related reasons? Our November through January programs will be filmed and recorded. A professionally-produced presentation of the concert will be provided to you so that you may still enjoy the performance at home. (note: may take up to 2 weeks to deliver)
  • No Surprises – As many of us have experienced in the last year, venues, the CDC, and the government have been shifting their guidance and policies to better match current scientific understanding. All ticket holders will receive an email notification at least one week prior to the performance date with our updated safety policies and requirements for attending the concert. These also will be detailed in the ticket reminder email you will receive 24 hours prior to your specific concert.

For our artists:

  • All artists performing with Seraphic Fire this season are required to be fully vaccinated.
  • Artists will take a COVID-19 PCR diagnostic test taken within 72 hours prior to their travel to Florida.
  • Artists will take an additional COVID-19 rapid test upon arrival in South Florida.
  • Artists will remain masked for rehearsals until receipt of a negative test result arrives.
  • Artists will only be unmasked during rehearsals after confirmation of negative results and will continue to mask outside of rehearsal.
  • While traveling, artists are required to wear either a KN95 mask or double up with a surgical mask and cloth mask in all shared spaces, maintain social distancing, wash hands often, and limit time in areas where exposure could be possible.
  • Local artists will be required to follow all health and safety protocols.

For our staff:

  • All full and part-time staff are required to be vaccinated.
  • Staff will be required to take a COVID-19 PCR diagnostic test within 72 hours of the first concert in each program.
  • Staff will be required to wear a KN95 mask at all times while at the concert venue.
